New Years Eve
Sitting here watching the rambling of Coronation Street, many will be getting ready to welcome to The New Year in. Maybe I am too old, maybe I just cannot be bothered, but I can see much pleasure to be gained from sitting at home watching Jool's Annual Hootenanny, often a very entertaining programme to keep us saddo's who stay at home busy.
I think though the point of being a witch is to enjoy yourself but not take things to extreme, and as such, spending lots of money on New Years eve is not my personal idea of fun. Not only that, but I feel guilty that, whilst remaining true to my path, my own New Year was back in November! We complain about not having the right to practice and then we want the best of both worlds by doing exactly what other have done and taking other people celebration and wanting to celebrate then.
I think New Year for me has never been fun, lots of people getting drunk, and ending up crying, or having a stressful time followed by an incredibly boring New Years Day - It is a bad ending to the Yule time season for me, and I personally like to consider the end of Yule is the 6th of January now the 3nd or 3rd when everyone has to go back to work.
So, jobs for today, feed the goats, see to the chickens and relax in the warmth in front of the TV with my lovely long time partner with a nice bottle of Cava and a few nibbles and tapping my foot to anything that Jool's wishes to entertain us with. Now that to me, is fun, and going out? Well, maybe, but, noooo, not this year.
So, to all you lot, either alone, or just preferring the quiet life!
Cheers!
